I'm overwhelmingly bummed right now. Queens Of The Stone Age are coming to my town and by the time I found someone I knew who was going (people either don't know who they are or don't like them enough to go) the fucking tickets were sold out.
No sex on a stick for me:
My fun machine literally took shit and died.
In the spirit of Valentine's Day, I have compiled a list of songs that inspire love and affection for the purpose of sharing them with all of you -- my own personal Valentine and thanks for how amazing you all are. I hope you'll download and share with your 'special someone' and your friends.
Enjoy!

It seems strange to not be posting a birthday wish to you on JW but I actually like this even more!
I know you're not crazy about your birthday but you're one of my best friends and I'm crazy about you, so that means your birthday means a lot to me!
We fed you spagetti last week and tomorrow you get coffee but for right now, I'm honouring you in words -- the first thing we bonded over when we started becoming friends. Can you believe we're in our 30s now!? Geeeeeez ....
Our friendship has been a miracle. We've been through a lot together and we'll ache through more I'm sure as we venture into spinsterhood but the good times truly outweight all of the things that made us cry! It's a testament to the kind of friends we are, that we can overcome anything. I am so grateful for all time we've had and the time we have left to fill up with memories. You're one of the only people I can talk to on the phone and just sit in silence while we tinker away with something else. That's how you know you're comfortable with your friends, your chosen family is when the silence is peaceful and full of ease.
Have a wonderful birthday, best friend. I love you to the moon and back.
*throws confetti*
And remember, the force will be with you, always!
Love,
Nic
Because it's the weekend and I'm ADDICTED to this song, I'm sharing the video here. DAMN I love it.

Nothing new to report here, I've been down most of the week with a migraine and am finally feeling better enough to go out for a few hours and mingle with people.
I also re-applied for Tourism yesterday which makes me happy. I can't WAIT to get back to work.
Groundhog Day tomorrow, that little fucker better have good news. I'm sick of winter.
And did someone say something about football? *snicker*
Operation Disc Drop is SO much fun. If you aren't aware of it or haven't read my other post about it, check it out here:

I dropped a disc today in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I left it by the middle payphone off of the food court in Mic Mac Mall.
I took the plunge, despite my brokeness of late and bought a ticket to go see BLUE RODEO!! I can't wait. They are one of my all time favorite Canadian bands, they're a treasure and I can't wait to sing my heart out!
It's gonna be GOOD.
*happy*

I had to search the paper's website for my last story but it was there. If you're interested, you can read it here:

My CBC boyfriend is genius -- go look.

I did it and it was really exciting to drop music anonymously and hope it's appreciated. I secretly hope to find one myself.
I *heart* George. He's so smart.
